At this specialist tier, the Education Specialist uses growing content and assessment expertise to take ownership of moderately complex curriculum or learning resource tasks, often working independently but as part of a larger team. They interpret and implement project guidelines, produce environment-specific content, and provide constructive input during project meetings. Their work routinely involves troubleshooting instructional issues, testing new content methods, and supporting ongoing improvements to assessments and resources.
In this role, you will deliver high-quality apprenticeship training programmes that develop learners' knowledge, skills, and behaviours, enabling them to successfully complete their programme and progress in their careers. You'll support apprentices throughout their entire journey - from initial assessment through to Gateway and End Point Assessment - providing professional, constructive feedback and coaching at every stage.
You’ll wake up motivated by helping learners succeed, seeing their confidence grow, and knowing your guidance directly impacts achievement and completion outcomes. In your first six months, your biggest impact will be establishing strong learner relationships, embedding effective coaching practices, and ensuring apprentices are progressing in line with their target achievement dates. What You’ll Own
- The end-to-end delivery of apprenticeship programmes, including initial assessment, coaching, assessment, progress reviews, and Gateway preparation
- Coaching and mentoring apprentices to develop workplace knowledge, skills, and behaviours aligned to their Apprenticeship Standard
- Reviewing learners' workplace evidence and providing timely constructive feedback both written and verbally
- Conducting assessments and generating evidence to support successful End Point Assessment outcomes
- Maintaining accurate learner records across MIS systems, e-portfolios, and online learning platforms, ensuring full compliance with Ofsted, ESFA, and awarding body requirements
You’ll also contribute to:
- Continuous improvement of programme resources
- Quality assurance activities, including standardisation and internal quality assurance where qualified
- Positive relationships with apprentices, employers, military or civilian line managers, and internal stakeholders
About You
You are a motivated, adaptable professional who thrives in a learner-focused, target-driven environment. You bring:
- Relevant assessor, teaching, or training qualifications
- At least 2 years' experience delivering apprenticeship training within the business skills sector
- Industry experience within a business administration role, with delivery experience at Level 3 Management and/or Business Administration
- Strong coaching and mentoring capability, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
You’re someone who:
- Manages your own caseload effectively with minimal supervision
- Uses technology confidently to support efficient and engaging learning delivery
- Demonstrates consistently good or outstanding performance through observations and standardisation
- Produces high-quality written feedback and clear, measurable development objectives
Desirable:
- A relevant Business Administration qualification
- Verifier qualification
- Experience supporting Ofsted inspections
- Understanding of ESFA funding requirements
