This job is with Pearson, an inclusive employer and a member of myGwork – the largest global platform for the LGBTQ+ business community. We're looking for a skilled Web Manager to join our eCommerce and Performance Marketing team to lead the day-to-day management and optimisation for one of Pearson's flagship D2C products, Pearson Test of English (PTE). This is an exciting time for PTE, as we look to further grow our business and create a world-class digital experience for the millions of global visitors who reach our site each year. As the web manager, you will lead how these initiatives come to life within our global and China PTE sites.
Your primary responsibility will be to lead the marketing strategy for the website, including driving up the site's acquisition, conversion, and engagement rates; devising effective customer journeys for campaign and organic traffic; developing our content and SEO strategy; and continually finding opportunities for optimisation throughout.
You'll also be part of a wider, highly collaborative eCommerce and Performance Marketing team, supporting each other to deliver a wider programme of testing, CRO, and experience personalisation. In addition, you will partner with Product, Engineering and UX teams to define and shape the end-to-end user experience and CX, as well as with global marketing colleagues to elevate top-of-funnel campaigns.
What you'll be doing:
- Own and develop our web strategy so that it delivers on growth, marketing, and product goals.
- Lead and execute our content SEO strategy: ensuring our content meets customer and business needs, and that we have a robust plan to improve our SEO performance.
- Ensure site content is clear, purposeful, and optimised: you will lead our content workstream - ensuring we meet best practices in content design, maintain tone of voice, and directing work for other site content managers.
- Partner with product and UX teams to identify, prioritise and deliver UX & UI enhancements that make the site more intuitive, accessible, and impactful, and help build a world-class customer experience.
- Improve campaign performance: you will ensure landing pages and on-site experiences align with broader marketing efforts and drive conversion.
- Work closely with optimisation and testing teams, using data, testing, and behavioural insights to inform experiments and building an enhancement pipeline.
- Contribute to a new site-wide personalisation strategy, working with colleagues across CRM, performance, and martech to initiate our first personalisation tactics.
- Manage and publish content in a CMS, with attention to detail, structure, and experience design.
- Engage and manage external agencies for the current site's development requirements.
- Champion SEO and CRO best practice throughout the team and organisation, helping to embed performance-driven thinking.
Essential skills:
- Proven experience in a web management or digital content role, ideally in an eCommerce-focused, digital-first environment.
- Excellent copywriting, editing and content design skills, with a sharp eye for detail and ability to craft clear, engaging, action-oriented content.
- Strong knowledge of content SEO fundamentals and strategy - from keyword research to content optimisation and link strategy.
- Good grasp of CRO and campaign performance principles, with experience building journeys that convert.
- Hands-on experience with content management systems - ideally Contentful or Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) strongly preferred.
- Comfortable working cross-functionally and managing agency relationships to get things done.
- Familiar with analysing customer data and using tools such as GA4.
Desirable skills:
- A solid understanding of UX and UI best practices, and how to work with and brief UX designers to achieve desired outcomes.
- Familiarity with customer engagements tools like Adobe Target, Braze, BlueConic, VWO, or similar.
- Understanding of inclusive design and accessibility standards (WCAG 2.0).
- Experience working on large-scale, multi-region websites, site localization and/or translation a real benefit.
- Familiarity with agile processes and tools like Jira, and Confluence.
