The Sales specialist at this tier uses a solid grasp of product knowledge and selling skills to independently manage moderately complex sales cycles within assigned territories. They support sales team efforts through diligent lead qualification, custom meetings, and effective follow-up, helping drive pipeline advancement with minimal supervision. They are expected to apply nuanced understanding to troubleshoot objections, tailor proposals, and coordinate internally for client-specific requirements, escalating issues outside their purview.

This role exists to deliver ambitious growth across the Apprenticeships division by winning new business and expanding Pearson's footprint across the training provider and employer landscape. You will be at the forefront of building new relationships, shaping commercial opportunities, and positioning Pearson as a trusted, long-term partner.

You will wake up excited to open doors, develop compelling propositions, and convert opportunity into impact. In your first six months, you will make the biggest difference by building a strong pipeline, securing new accounts, and establishing momentum against revenue targets.

Success in this role means consistent revenue growth, a healthy pipeline, and strong customer relationships that translate into long-term partnerships. You will own:

  • The acquisition of new business across training providers, employers, and employer groups
  • A robust and well-managed sales pipeline, from opportunity identification through to conversion
  • The successful introduction and uptake of new apprenticeship products and digital services

You will also lead and influence:

  • Commercial strategies that drive volume growth in consortia and employer groups
  • Cross-functional collaboration with Product, Marketing, Customer Services, FE Sales, and Assessment Services
  • Contributions to bids, tenders, and divisional strategy through strong market insight and reporting

You bring strong commercial acumen, proven sales capability, and experience within the apprenticeship or work-based learning sector - and you are someone who thrives on opening new doors and delivering results. You bring:

  • At least 2 years' experience in apprenticeship sales or a related business development role
  • A strong understanding of the training provider and employer landscape
  • A proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets

  • Builds trust quickly and develops lasting relationships
  • Takes ownership, works independently, and follows through on commitments
