The Programme Manager role is vital to the successful management of our delivery contract, ensuring the timely completion of our learners. You will be at the heart of our operations, leading a team of Skills Coaches to achieve all targets with excellence. Your dynamic leadership will ensure that learners on allocated programmes are regularly reviewed, meet timely and overall achievement targets, and progress in line with the high expectations of ourselves, our employers and customers.
Core Tasks and Responsibilities- Line manage allocated team members in relation to reviewing targets and personal development. Undertake regular caseload discussions and formal quarterly performance reviews.
- Line manage allocated team members to ensure all learners' work is dealt with in a timely manner, achieving or exceeding the required quality standards, and that Coaches are providing learners with constructive, professional, and relevant advice & guidance in order for them to achieve their qualification and/or Apprenticeship.
- Be responsible for monitoring Coach caseload management, including learner allocation, learner progress, reviews, completions and breaks in learning.
- Liaise with administration and functional skills teams to ensure priorities are being discussed, agreed and met by all teams.
- Check all staff have planned their time effectively to maximise progress and efficiency with their assigned caseload.
- Ensure that learners are progressing in line with their target achievement dates and that all learners progress, as a minimum, monthly.
- Support scheduling of workshops, visits and delivery as needed, to ensure sufficient coverage.
- Support with creation of, and ongoing review of, learning materials, content and curriculum to ensure it is engaging and meets high quality standards and fulfils the requirements of the Apprenticeship.
- Assist with quality assurance of qualifications, where required, as directed by the Quality Team. This will include the quality assurance of assessment decisions for allocated Coaches and assistance with learner interviews in line with the quality assurance strategy.
- Encourage cross-contract support and work collaboratively with the other People Managers to identify and encourage the sharing of ideas, best practice and resources.
- Assist with external visits or audits in relation to your programme area or contracts.
- Complete CPD as set by management in order to retain theoretical or occupational competence.
- Attend and run team meetings monthly, in line with management / quality team direction.
- Collate management information to support performance of Coaches and provide information and returns to Senior Programme Manager on a monthly basis.
- Oversee booking of travel and accommodation of delivery team in line with cost control.
- Provide cover for other Programme Managers where required.
- Complete visits to other sites and locations when required or as directed by management.
- Identify business opportunities and assist with the implementation of these opportunities.
- Effective management of team members under your control with responsibility for recruitment, retention and where necessary, disciplinary activities.
- Responsibility for the welfare of any team members under your control by following all relevant Health & Safety, Safeguarding, Equality, Anti-Bribery and Corruption, Prevention of Harassment and Bullying and other HR policies.
- Hold a minimum of 3 years recent experience in a middle management position, ideally in the Apprenticeships or Education Sector.
- Occupational experience within the probation service.
- Strong knowledge of probation service roles, responsibilities, key legislation and current probation practice.
- Experience of delivering government funding training provision.
- Expertise in a target driven environment with a proven track record in achieving targets.
- Experience of working with large employers.
- Proven ability to motivate and develop staff, minimise conflict and of performance management processes.
- Highly motivated, flexible, and adaptable.
- Good use of IT skills and experience in spreadsheets and managing and analysing data.
- Exceptional organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Hold a management qualification at level 3 or above.
- Ability to create inspiring and engaging learning content.
- Verifier Qualification.
- Understanding of EIF and Ofsted inspections and knowledge of government funded audits and compliance.
- Hold a teaching/assessor qualification.
