We work in partnership with the Ministry of Defence and other organisations to provide professional, technical and vocational education across the UK - helping learners gain the skills and confidence they need to succeed. We're now looking for an experienced Plant Operator Trainer to join our team at the Royal School of Military Engineering (RSME) in Wainscott, Kent.
In this role, you'll train both Regular and Reservist soldiers in the operation and maintenance of in-service C Vehicles and Engineer Construction Plant, ensuring that every learner is equipped to perform safely and effectively in their role.
What You'll Be Doing
- Deliver high-quality, engaging training sessions to Regular and Reservist soldiers on a range of construction plant and equipment.
- Prepare and maintain course materials, lesson plans, and assessments in line with training objectives.
- Assess learner progress, provide constructive feedback, and support each learner through their development journey.
- Ensure all equipment is maintained, safe, and fit for training use.
- Maintain accurate records, including equipment usage, course dossiers, and fault logs.
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe training environment.
- Deliver training offsite in the UK or overseas when required (with reasonable notice).
- Act as an ambassador for Pearson TQ, upholding our values of integrity, innovation, and excellence.
About You
You're an experienced trainer or operator who's passionate about passing on your skills and experience. You take pride in high standards, safety, and helping others grow. You're adaptable, professional, and thrive in a hands-on, team-focused environment.
You’ll ideally have:
- NPORS or CPCS certification (or willingness to obtain) for the relevant equipment and subjects delivered.
- Recognised Teaching Qualification (e.g., Level 3 Award in Education and Training) or actively working towards one.
- Full CAT C, G, and H Driving Licence.
- NPORS Tester Qualification (or willingness to work towards achieving it).
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in operating plant machinery.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and maintaining industry competence.
