Onscreen Examiner - BTEC Next Generation

We are recruiting BTEC Examiners for the following sectors:

• Business
• Engineering
• ICT
• Performing Arts
• Sport

We are also actively recruiting BTEC Onscreen Examiners across sectors who are able to verify in the medium of Welsh.

Purpose

An Onscreen Examiner marks candidates\’ responses in accordance with the pre-defined mark scheme, whilst adhering to the Code of Practice and examination procedures. Subjects will be marked onscreen using ePEN, which can be done from home. A high level of subject knowledge is necessary in order to apply the mark scheme. Each examiner will receive an agreed allocation of scripts.

Responsibilities

1. To mark accurately and consistently to ensure overall standards are maintained
2. To submit samples to your Team Leader at designated times
3. To ensure milestones for marking are adhered to
4. To ensure all administration is completed as specified

Experience/qualifications needed

1. You will have one academic year\’s worth of teaching experience:
   1. a. within the last 8 years
   2. b. within the relevant subject and level
   3. c. since qualifying as a teacher
2. You will have a degree or equivalent
3. You will be a qualified teacher

Competencies required

1. You will have the ability to work well under pressure
2. You will have the ability to meet deadlines
3. You will have a high level of subject knowledge in order to apply the mark scheme
