In this first-line manager role, the Team Supervisor supports daily execution within a product squad, ensuring that core processes such as requirements gathering, backlog refinement, and user story delivery meet procedural standards. The supervisor is responsible for monitoring team progress, addressing workflow disruptions, and assisting with immediate challenges. They perform on-the-job training, provide feedback, and maintain compliance with agreed practices, escalating more complex product or project issues to higher management tiers. The scope is tightly focused on achieving operational consistency, delivering on defined tasks, and fostering foundational skills among team members.

The Product Director will lead product management for a high impact transformation programme in Pearson Qualifications. They will drive the design and delivery of Agentic product experiences for qualifications' customers, learners and internal staff, while embedding product excellence across the organisation. They will also be responsible for upskilling and coaching an emerging product team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee complex, cross-functional product streams, ensuring product strategy leads to agreed outcomes.
  • Ensure execution aligns with broader transformation strategy while adapting roadmaps for shifting business priorities.
  • Manage teams executing on numerous high-value product initiatives, translating transformation priorities into actionable plans, and overseeing the operational health of multiple product lines.
  • Partner closely with department heads and technology leaders to ensure initiatives run cohesively, providing critical input into budget allocation and operational adjustments.
  • Balance project throughput while maintaining compliance, addressing operational continuity, and proactively managing risk exposure during delivery.
  • Define and manage a product team upskilling programme, embedding product excellence practices into the transformation team.
Required Experience and Qualifications
  • Significant experience (typically 8+ years) in product management, with a proven track record of leading complex, cross-functional product streams and delivering high-impact transformation initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success in designing and launching innovative & commercial product experiences for diverse customer groups, including external customers, learners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Experience managing and developing high-performing product teams, including upskilling, coaching, and embedding product excellence practices.
  • Strong background in translating strategic transformation priorities into actionable product roadmaps, balancing operational health, compliance, and risk management across multiple product lines.
  • Proven ability to partner with senior leaders across technology, business, and operations to drive cohesive execution, budget allocation, and operational adjustments.
  • Advanced proficiency in applying business acumen, strategic thinking, and data analysis to inform product decisions and measure impact.
  • Experience fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement within a product-focused environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (such as Business, Technology, or Product Management) or equivalent experience.
