As Business Development Manager, your primary responsibility is to drive significant revenue growth by proactively identifying, securing and developing new business opportunities across the region. You will focus on expanding our customer base, forging new partnerships and accelerating the adoption of innovative products and services. Your role is pivotal in delivering ambitious growth targets for the Apprenticeships division, with a strong emphasis on winning new accounts and increasing market share.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead the acquisition of new business, targeting private training providers, employers, and employer groups to expand Pearson's reach and impact.
- Deliver sustained revenue growth by actively seeking and converting new opportunities, alongside managing and growing existing accounts.
- Champion the introduction and sale of new products and digital services, ensuring rapid uptake among both new and existing customers.
- Develop creative solutions and strategies to drive volume growth, especially in consortia and employer groups, in line with new Apprenticeship standards.
- Maintain a robust pipeline of new business prospects, using Salesforce to track progress and ensure timely follow‐up.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues across Product, Marketing, Customer Services, FE Sales and Assessment Services to deliver a seamless customer experience that supports growth.
- Play a key role in bids, tenders, and management reporting, with a focus on securing new contracts and expanding Pearson's footprint.
- Foster a customer first culture, ensuring all decisions support the needs of new and existing customers and learners.
- Contribute to divisional strategy, bringing market insights that inform product and service development for growth.
- Continuously enhance your knowledge of Pearson's products and services to enable impactful conversations that drive new business.

Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Apprenticeship sales or a related field
- Knowledge of the Training Provider landscape across work‐based learning sectors
- Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Self‐motivated with a strong desire to succeed
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Valid driver's license and access to a car, as travel will be required
- Must be eligible to work in the United Kingdom
