The General Qualification Assessment (GQA) department is part of the Pearson Schools Qualifications division. The department has end-to-end responsibility for delivering secure assessment materials and outcomes from Pearson to our customers.
The department consists of two operational teams, a test development team and a content team. The Assessment Coordinator will assist in the delivery of operations for specific subjects within the General Qualifications portfolio.
The Assessment Coordinator will report to a member of the Assessment team, daily duties may include:
- Assist in preparing, reviewing, and delivering secure assessment materials.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with internal policies and regulations.
- Track and coordinate tasks for various examination series, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Organise schedules and resources needed for assessments.
- Attend team meetings to provide updates and collaborate with content and other development teams.
- Ensure assessment activities follow internal policies and regulatory guidelines.
- Review documents for compliance and report discrepancies.
- Assist with customer communications, answering queries from students, parents, or educators.
- Help prepare content for stakeholder meetings and presentations.
- Manage smaller tasks, create timelines, and track project progress.
- Ensure activities are on schedule and elevate any delays.
- Stay updated on qualification changes and adjust tasks as needed.
- Help implement new requirements and suggest process improvements.
- Attend training to improve skills in project management and assessment operations.
- Seek feedback to enhance performance and gain hands-on experience.
- Contribute to a positive team environment by sharing updates and supporting colleagues.
Interns will ensure that the assessment processes they support are carried out to a high standard in accordance with all appropriate internal policies and external regulations and can withstand scrutiny by internal audit and all stakeholders - including regulators, students, and parents.
Key requirements
- Final year student pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree.
- Project Management Skills: Experience or education in project management to help coordinate tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.

- Team Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team setting, contributing to a positive and productive work environment.

- Able to get to the designated Pearson worksite/office for this particular role. The role is hybrid, which requires two days a week in the office.
- Expected to be in the office ~2 to 3x a week on specific days, this can be either in the London or Manchester office.
