We are looking for a passionate and experienced healthcare professional to join Pearson TQ as an Apprenticeship Assessor – Clinical Healthcare (Temp – 18 Months). In this role, you'll support learners working towards the Senior Healthcare Support Worker Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard, providing high‐quality coaching, assessment, and guidance throughout their learning journey. You'll play a key role in helping learners develop the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required for success, ensuring they are fully prepared for Gateway and End Point Assessment. Location & Work Setup
This role is based at Whittington Barracks, Lichfield and involves regular travel to learner workplaces and training locations as required. Delivery may include a blend of workplace, classroom, and virtual learning environments.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Apprentice Coaching & Assessment
- Deliver high‐quality training and assessment to learners undertaking the Senior Healthcare Support Worker apprenticeship.
- Support learners throughout their apprenticeship journey, helping them develop the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required to achieve their qualification.
- Provide constructive, professional, and timely feedback that supports learner progress and achievement.
- Prepare and support learners for Gateway and End Point Assessment.
- Workplace Assessment & Reviews
- Conduct workplace observations and assessments against apprenticeship and awarding body requirements.
- Carry out regular reviews with learners and line managers, ensuring all documentation is completed within agreed timescales.
- Monitor learner progress against target achievement dates and proactively address barriers to completion.
- Maintain regular contact with learners and employers to support successful programme outcomes.
- Quality & Compliance
- Ensure assessments are accurate, compliant, and meet internal quality assurance requirements.
- Maintain accurate learner records and documentation across electronic and paper‐based systems.
- Identify and manage learner withdrawals, absences, and changes in circumstances in line with required processes.
- Attend standardisation activities and team meetings to support quality and continuous improvement.
- Learner & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build positive relationships with learners, line managers, and key stakeholders.
- Encourage a positive attitude towards learning and professional development.
- Promote a supportive learning environment that enables learners to achieve their full potential.
- Represent Pearson TQ professionally and maintain strong customer relationships.
What We're Looking For
- Essential Skills & Experience
- Minimum Level 3 NVQ/Diploma in Healthcare or equivalent sector‐specific qualification.
- Clinical healthcare experience.
- Experience managing and supporting learner programmes.
- Strong coaching, mentoring, and learner support skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good written skills with the ability to provide detailed feedback and set clear learner objectives.
- Good IT skills and confidence using digital systems and learning platforms.
- Ability to work independently and manage a busy caseload.
- Desirable Skills & Experience
- TAQA, A1, D32/D33 Assessor qualification.
- V1/D34 Internal Quality Assurance qualification.
- Teaching qualification.
- Knowledge of apprenticeship standards and apprenticeship delivery.
- Experience of working within the Ofsted inspection framework.
Additional Information
Regular travel to learner and customer sites is required. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain occupational competence through ongoing professional development. Flexibility may be required to meet learner and programme needs.
