Your Opportunity

  • This is a permanent position.
  • Lerwick: 1 day (7 hrs) every 6 weeks. Mid Yell: 1 day (6 hrs) every 2 months, includes travel time.
  • Pay rate: £13.60 per hour, paid at the end of every month.

When you join us as Test Centre Administrator, you will be part of our worldwide organization and work with colleagues who are passionate about helping customers during their learning and assessment journey. This role involves supporting test-taking candidates visiting Pearson VUE Test Centres to complete exams and ensuring secure exam delivery while providing exceptional customer service in a comfortable environment.

Your Responsibilities

  • Welcome, greet and check-in customers and test-taking candidates.
  • Comply with exams testing security and procedures and follow company policies with careful judgment.
  • Verify customer/candidate identification documents and explain the exam testing process and rules.
  • Proctor/invigilate candidates during their exam.
  • Troubleshoot with internal departments (e.g., IT) to fix technical issues at the Test Centre.
  • Perform housekeeping tasks as necessary (e.g., vacuuming floors and sanitizing keyboards/workstations).

This is an opportunity to gain experience working with diverse teams while ensuring a positive candidate experience. The ideal applicant is a true team player with availability to work a variety of shifts, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Test Centres are open early and late, requiring flexibility.

This role involves helping people during an important event while protecting Pearson VUE exams and processes. We are seeking a friendly and professional team player with school qualifications in English and Maths. Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is an advantage.

You must be flexible to work different days and times and comfortable in a quiet testing environment, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to monitor for restricted behavior. You should be able to sit for long periods and escort candidates to and from exam rooms.
