In this role, you will inspire and educate 16-17-year-old Junior Soldiers by delivering ICDL training at the Army Foundation College, Harrogate. You'll play a vital role in building learners' digital confidence and employability skills, supporting them at a pivotal stage as they begin their Army careers.
You'll wake up excited knowing your work directly impacts young people in a structured, purpose-driven environment. In your first six months, you'll make the biggest impact by establishing strong learner engagement, delivering high-quality instruction, and supporting learners to successfully achieve their ICDL qualifications. What You'll Own
Success in this role means delivering engaging, high-quality ICDL provision while supporting learner progress and achievement. Your key priorities will include:
- Owning the delivery of ICDL across up to eight classes of Junior Soldiers aged 16-17
- Creating a positive, inclusive learning environment that supports learner success
- Supporting team delivery by providing cover for colleagues and invigilating examinations as required
You'll have the opportunity to influence learner outcomes, contribute to curriculum delivery, and help maintain high standards of teaching and learning.
About You
You bring a passion for teaching, strong subject expertise, and the ability to engage and motivate young learners within a structured environment. You will:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status, or be willing to work towards it
- Have a Level 3 qualification in the subject you will teach
- Demonstrate professionalism, adaptability, and a learner-first mindset aligned with Pearson's essential behaviours
You thrive in collaborative environments, value high standards, and are motivated by making a meaningful difference.
Desirable:
- Functional Skills Level 2 in English, Maths, and/or ICT
- Experience working with the Military or other uniformed services
- Experience delivering Functional Skills and awareness of current educational developments
