Location: Minley & Worthy Down, Hampshire
Working Pattern: Flexible Zero-Hours Contract (Evenings and Some Daytime Delivery)

We're looking for an enthusiastic tutor, teacher, trainer, or educator to support learners studying Functional Skills qualifications within a unique military training environment.

Whether you currently work in Further Education, Adult Education, Apprenticeships, Training, or Schools, this is an opportunity to use your teaching skills in a rewarding setting where you'll directly support learners to achieve recognised qualifications and progress in their careers.

This flexible role is ideal for experienced tutors seeking additional work, educators looking for greater flexibility, or professionals with teaching experience who want to make a real impact.

What You'll Do

You'll deliver engaging learning sessions that help adult learners develop essential English and Maths skills, build confidence, and successfully achieve their qualifications.

Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering Functional Skills English and Maths teaching up to Level 2
  • Supporting learners through both face-to-face and remote learning
  • Creating engaging and inclusive learning experiences
  • Conducting assessments and providing developmental feedback
  • Motivating learners to stay on track and achieve their goals
  • Adapting your teaching style to meet individual learner needs
  • Supporting learner progress through regular reviews and coaching conversations
  • Maintaining accurate learner records and e-portfolio evidence
  • Contributing to quality improvement activities, team meetings, and standardisation events

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • A recognised teaching qualification (PTLLS, CTLLS, Cert Ed, DTLLS, PGCE, Level 3 Award in Education & Training or equivalent)
  • Level 2 English and Maths qualifications
  • Experience teaching, tutoring, training, coaching, or supporting adult learners
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Confidence delivering learning both in-person and online

A Unique Teaching Environment

Working within a military learning environment offers a rewarding alternative to traditional classroom settings.

You'll support motivated adult learners in small groups and one-to-one settings, helping them achieve qualifications that make a genuine difference to their futures.

Delivery is typically:

  • Evening sessions (6:00pm to 8:00pm)
  • Some daytime delivery (8:00am to 5:00pm)
  • Across Minley and Worthy Down sites

A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are required.
