End Point Assessor – Apprenticeship – Senior Healthcare Support Worker (Diagnostic Imaging Support) (Level 3) Independent end-point assessor for the Senior Healthcare Support Worker (Diagnostic Imaging Support) Level 3 apprenticeship. Local and remote EPA activities available; dates agreed with employers/providers. Assessors must be independent of the training provider and have no conflict of interest with the apprentice.
OverviewThe government requires end-point assessment (EPA) as a holistic assessment of knowledge, skills and behaviours (KSBs) learnt throughout the apprenticeship. Pearson provides independent EPAs to ensure apprentices are job-ready and consistently assessed, regardless of provider or location.Key AccountabilitiesParticipate in regular training and standardisation activities for the EPA role.Maintain and provide evidence of ongoing CPD relevant to the role.Assess candidates according to published assessment and grading criteria and procedures, ensuring standards are maintained.Follow Pearson specifications, assessment materials and QA protocols for EPAs.Maintain service-level agreements for EPA planning, operations, and submission of assessment outcomes.Report risks, issues and suspected malpractice/maladministration during the EPA.Ensure EPA reports and assessment evidence are high quality and accurately recorded.Assist with appeals from apprentices regarding assessment decisions if necessary.Allow additional travel time when arranging EPA activities.Raise conflicts of interest related to independence of assessment.Complete personal actions as required by Pearson and contribute to continuous improvement and external QA activities (IFATE).Person SpecificationBackground and Experience (Essential)Recent relevant experience in the occupation area at or above Level 3, within the last 5 years, or significant experience in the occupation/sector.Knowledge and understanding of Diagnostic Imaging.Qualified with a relevant qualification at or above the level they are assessing.Experience of leading meetings, structured interviews or discussions.Experience complying with quality assurance/regulatory requirements.Hold or be working towards a formal assessor qualification (e.g. A1, TAQA component).Hold an Enhanced DBS certificate (with or without barred list) registered for the update service; DBS evidence and supporting documents will be requested.Willing to travel to employer sites for face-to-face practical assessments.Minimum of two working days per week available for EPA duties.Background and Experience (Desirable)Experience of marking or grading judgments.Experience in Digital Imaging within an NHS environment.Skills & Knowledge (Essential)Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills; able to respond to conflicts.Knowledge of relevant legislation and codes of practice.Sufficient technical knowledge of the Diagnostic Imaging industry.In-depth knowledge of the apprenticeship standard, assessment plan, specification, instruments and recording tools.Ability to assess free from bias and to assess and report risks; able to meet deadlines.Other RequirementsOwn IT equipment capable of running Pearson-required software, reliable broadband, microphone, headphones and webcam.Personal and secure email account; UK or ROI postal address; right to work in the UK.Availability for travel; attendance at standardisation events.Application InformationWe have opportunities for teaching professionals to join our teams of examiners, moderators and verifiers.
