Join our team as an Invigilator at Pearson TQ! Do you want to support apprentices to achieve their exams and help them feel calm, confident and well supported throughout the assessment process? Are you passionate about creating a professional, welcoming environment where learners can perform at their best while ensuring assessments are carried out fairly and correctly? About the Role: This is an important frontline role within Pearson TQ’s Functional Skills delivery, supporting apprentices as they complete English and Mathematics at Merville Barracks, Colchester. As an Invigilator, you will play a key part in helping learners feel prepared, reassured and supported during what can often be a challenging experience, while also maintaining the integrity and smooth running of the assessment process. The role includes invigilating live Functional Skills assessments as well as paper-based and online mock assessments, initial and diagnostic assessments, and supervised online learning sessions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To maintain direct control and supervision of all learners undergoing assessments, exams and e-learning
  • Prepare and administer Functional Skills English and Mathematics Functional Skills assessments
  • Maintain accurate records of examinations undertaken, including seating plans, supervision reports and attendance registers with accuracy
  • Submit completed examination paperwork within a timely manner
  • Ensure the JCQ and Awarding Body Instructions for Conducting Examinations (ICE) are adhered to
  • Conduct initial and diagnostic assessments with learners
  • Set up paper-based mock assessments, invigilate and provide the Functional Skills Tutor with assessment/s for marking
  • Set up online mock assessments, invigilate and print results
  • Set up and invigilate apprentices completing online learning
  • Maintain accurate daily records of learner’s attendance and achievements and report any absences
  • Undertake appropriate staff development activities that support personal development, ensuring your own practice conforms with standards
