Advanced Associates are trusted to deliver and assist in developing well-defined service tasks for assigned schools or specific services, with growing autonomy and sound judgment. They assist in maintaining and adhering to established service procedures, participate in team discussions around solutions, and offer input during the rollout of new content delivery initiatives. While they largely follow checklists and standard guidance, these individuals are increasingly relied upon to spot process issues, resolve basic challenges, and alert more senior colleagues to developing concerns.
This role exists to equip military personnel with the practical skills, confidence, and technical competence required to operate and maintain specialist construction plant safely and effectively. You will wake up motivated by sharing your expertise, working hands-on with learners, and knowing your training directly supports operational capability. In your first six months, your biggest impact will be delivering engaging, high-quality training, building strong learner relationships, and embedding safe, effective operating practices across courses. What You Will Own
- Delivery of engaging, high-quality training on construction plant and engineer equipment to Regular and Reservist soldiers
- Preparation and maintenance of lesson plans, course materials, and assessments aligned to training objectives
- Assessment of learner progress, providing clear, constructive feedback and ongoing support
You will also lead and contribute to:
- Maintaining training equipment to ensure safety, compliance, and operational readiness
- Accurate completion of course records, equipment logs, and fault reporting
- Promoting a safe, inclusive, and professional training environment
- Delivering training offsite in the UK or overseas when required
About You
You bring strong technical expertise, real-world operating experience, and a passion for developing others. You bring:
- A minimum of 5 years' experience operating construction plant or similar heavy equipment
- NPORS or CPCS certification (or willingness to obtain) relevant to the equipment delivered
- A recognised teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one)
- Full CAT C, G, and H driving licence
You are someone who:
- Takes pride in high standards, safety, and professionalism
- Communicates clearly and confidently in practical training environments
- Thrives in hands-on, team-based settings
- Is committed to continuous professional development and maintaining industry competence
Desirable:
- NPORS Tester qualification (or willingness to work towards it)
