We are working with an established business in Sittingbourne who are looking to recruit a permanent Transport Administrator. This role offers up to £27,500 per annum and provides a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive team and develop your career in logistics.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the transport function, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, and helping the team stay organised and compliant.
Key Responsibilities- Provide administrative support across the transport and logistics operation
- Coordinate and update daily transport schedules and driver allocations
- Process delivery notes, PODs (Proof of Delivery), timesheets, and transport documentation
- Monitor vehicle movements and communicate with drivers regarding routes and delays
- Maintain accurate records, logs, and compliance documentation
- Assist with driver hours, tachograph data, and general compliance administration
- Handle customer and internal queries relating to deliveries and transport activity
- Input and manage data using transport management systems (TMS) and Excel
- Support the transport manager with reporting and ad-hoc administrative tasks
- Previous experience as a Transport Administrator, Logistics Administrator, or similar role
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Good understanding of transport operations and associated documentation
- Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Experience with transport management systems is desirable
- Excellent communication skills
- Able to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
- High attention to detail and proactive problem-solving skills
