A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced National Account Manager to join a successful business operating within a fast-paced commercial retail supply environment. This is a varied and commercially focused role where you will take responsibility for the growth and development of key national accounts, working closely with household-name customers to identify new opportunities, develop product ranges and achieve sales targets.

Duties for this busy National Account Manager role include:

  • Managing and developing key national customer accounts to support sales growth.
  • Identifying new sales opportunities through product ranges, promotions, pricing and route-to-market opportunities.
  • Presenting sales and category analysis to key stakeholders.
  • Managing projects through internal processes to ensure customer expectations and deadlines are met.
  • Working closely with customers to manage existing product catalogues and introduce new product ranges.
  • Managing day-to-day customer relationships and resolving or escalating issues where required.
  • Working alongside Supply Chain teams to manage product lifecycles, new product selections, stock levels and lead times.
  • Monitoring competitor activity, product ranges and market trends.
  • Managing pricing and customer data, ensuring information remains accurate and up to date.
  • Coordinating product samples through internal departments, including design checks, testing, photography and showroom processes.
  • Liaising with internal teams including Operations, Supply Chain, Transport and Design to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Supporting the wider National Accounts team with ad hoc customer enquiries.

To be successful for this role, you must have/be:

  • 2–3 years’ experience within an Account Manager role.
  • Previous experience within a similar retail, buying or marketing role would also be considered.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify sales opportunities.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft packages.
  • Experience using Microsoft Navision would be advantageous.
  • Exceptionally high standards with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A positive, enthusiastic and approachable personality.
  • A self-starter who is confident taking responsibility and using their own initiative.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • A flexible and proactive team player.
