This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Electronics Design Engineer to join a well-established engineering organisation undergoing continued growth and investment. The engineering team has expanded significantly, with excellent stability, very low turnover and a leadership group that supports development and progression.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- A highly varied, hands-on electronics design role covering the entire lifecycle of product development, including:
- Design & Development
- Developing electronic circuits from concept through to production release
- Carrying out schematic capture and creating well-structured circuit designs
- Running circuit simulations (e.g., SPICE tools) to validate performance
- Selecting components, evaluating new technologies and contributing to architecture decisions
- Collaborating closely with software, mechanical and systems engineers during integration
- Supporting PCB layout activities & participating in peer reviews
- Ensuring manufacturability and supporting DFM/DFT approaches
- Planning and executing design verification testing
- Supporting formal qualification processes and troubleshooting during test phases
- Supporting production and technicians with fault-finding
- Producing technical reports, test notes, specifications and documentation
- Managing component obsolescence and ensuring future-proof designs
SKILLS & TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Education and experience
- Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
- Proven experience in electronic product development (not a graduate role)
- Strong understanding of analogue/digital circuit design
- Circuit simulation using tools such as SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink etc.
- Experience supporting PCB layouts using Altium or similar CAD packages
- Understanding of servo systems, control theory and control loops
- Knowledge of EMC principles, environmental testing or MIL standards is desirable
- Experience designing for electromechanical or motion-control systems is advantageous
- Practical, inquisitive problem solver
- Strong mathematical thinker
- Clear communicator who works well with other disciplines
- Quality-driven, organised and structured in approach
