We’re working with a well-established manufacturing business within the packaging sector who are looking to add a skilled Print Finisher to their production team. This is a full-time, Temporary to Permanent opportunity for someone with strong finishing experience who wants to be part of a business that values quality, safety and continuous improvement.
Why this role?
You’ll play a key role within the finishing department, responsible for setting up, running and maintaining folder gluer machinery to deliver consistently high-quality cartons and paperboard products. You’ll work closely with machine assistants, quality teams and supervisors to ensure production targets are met safely and efficiently.
What you’ll be doing:
- Setting up and operating finishing equipment, including folder gluer machines, in line with job specifications
- Producing products that meet client requirements, carrying out regular checks and making adjustments to maintain quality
- Inspecting finished products for accuracy, application and alignment, ensuring all quality standards are met
- Completing quality documentation and retaining samples as required
- Performing routine cleaning, lubrication and basic maintenance of machinery
- Monitoring machine speed, waste levels and productivity to optimise performance and minimise downtime
- Working closely with machine assistants, supporting training and knowledge sharing where required
- Communicating clearly around job progress, production targets and any issues affecting output
This is a hands-on role where quality, efficiency and teamwork are essential.
What we’re looking for:
You’ll need proven experience in print finishing within a carton, packaging or print production environment. Key requirements include:
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to set up, adjust and troubleshoot finishing equipment
- Good understanding of paperboard materials, folding styles and glue application systems
- Experience reading and working from job cards, production specifications and work instructions
- Familiarity with quality control procedures and documentation
- A solid understanding of health and safety and good housekeeping within a manufacturing environment
- Ability to work rotational shifts and meet production deadlines
Desirable:
- Formal training or certification in print finishing or packaging
- Experience mentoring or training machine assistants
