Location: Tonbridge, Kent (hybrid working available after training)

Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 (negotiable based on experience & skillset) + 10% annual bonus + excellent benefits + training and progression

Full-time, Permanent Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm

Pearson Whiffin Recruitment is working with a technically driven automotive engineering organisation operating within a quality-critical environment where precision, consistency and compliance are essential.

This is a key quality-focused role suited to experienced Quality Inspectors or automotive professionals who understand the demands of automotive standards.

You will be confident working to tight tolerances, interpreting technical drawings and ensuring mechanical components meet exacting specifications prior to release.

The Role
  • Inspect and validate automotive mechanical components and sub-assemblies against technical specifications
  • Carry out dimensional and visual inspections using verniers, micrometers, gauges and other precision tools
  • Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T and technical documentation with confidence
  • Identify non-conformances and work with engineering, procurement and suppliers to resolve issues
  • Support internal and external audits, maintaining accurate quality records and documentation
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and quality process enhancements
About You
  • Proven experience working with automotive components
  • Strong understanding of mechanical components, tolerances and quality standards
  • Highly competent reading and interpreting technical and engineering drawings
  • Confident using precision measurement equipment (verniers, micrometers, gauges, CMM exposure advantageous)
  • Detail-driven mindset with high personal standards and pride in accuracy
  • Comfortable challenging issues and communicating clearly across departments
  • Engineering or technical qualification at Level 3 or equivalent preferred
