Are you an engineer who enjoys taking ownership of projects from concept through to completion? We're working with a well-established specialist engineering business that designs, builds and delivers bespoke equipment solutions for customers across a range of manufacturing environments. Due to continued growth, they’re looking to appoint an Engineering Project Manager to take responsibility for multiple customer projects, ensuring successful delivery from initial handover through to final sign-off.

This is an excellent opportunity for a degree-qualified engineer who has moved into project management and enjoys combining technical knowledge with customer-facing project delivery.

The Role

Working closely with customers, sales teams, engineers and installation personnel, you’ll oversee projects throughout their entire lifecycle. Projects vary in complexity and value, ranging from equipment upgrades through to large-scale engineering installations worth hundreds of thousands of pounds.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing multiple engineering projects simultaneously from order through to completion
  • Acting as the main point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle
  • Coordinating internal engineering, installation and service teams
  • Managing project schedules, milestones and resource planning
  • Monitoring project budgets, costs and overall delivery performance
  • Supporting technical discussions during project kick-off and planning stages
  • Ensuring installations, commissioning activities and project close-out are delivered successfully
  • Managing snagging, service requirements and remedial works following installation
  • Scheduling engineers and site visits to meet customer expectations
  • Identifying project risks and implementing solutions before they impact delivery
  • Building strong long-term customer relationships through effective communication and successful project outcomes

About You

To be considered, you’ll need:

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering or a related Engineering discipline
  • Previous experience managing engineering projects from concept through to completion
  • Experience managing project budgets, timelines and customer expectations
  • Strong technical understanding of engineering or manufacturing environments
  • Experience coordinating engineers, contractors and multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent planning, organisational and communication skills
  • A practical, hands-on approach with the ability to solve problems and make decisions

Experience within any of the following sectors would be particularly beneficial:

  • Special purpose machinery
  • Capital equipment
  • Automation
  • Robotics
  • Manufacturing equipment
  • Industrial machinery
  • Systems integration
  • Mechanical or electrical engineering projects

This role would suit somebody who enjoys being involved in the detail, understands engineering principles and takes pride in delivering successful projects rather than simply overseeing them from a distance.

What’s On Offer?

  • £45,000 - £50,000 salary
  • Varied and technically interesting projects
  • High levels of autonomy and responsibility
  • Opportunity to work closely with senior leadership
  • Stable, growing engineering business
  • Long-term career progression opportunities

If you’re looking for a role where you can combine your engineering background with project ownership and customer interaction, we’d love to hear from you.
