We're recruiting for an ambitious engineering business looking to appoint a Technical Project & Estimating Manager to take ownership of a busy commercial function. The Role
Reporting into senior leadership, you'll oversee the estimating and quotations function whilst leading a small team and supporting projects from initial enquiry through to successful handover. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing and developing a small commercial and estimating team.
- Producing accurate quotations from customer enquiries, technical drawings and specifications.
- Reviewing project requirements and identifying practical manufacturing solutions.
- Coordinating multiple quotations and customer projects simultaneously.
- Working closely with production, engineering and commercial teams to ensure projects run smoothly.
- Building strong relationships with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Improving systems, processes and efficiencies across the department.
- Supporting continuous improvement and helping drive the business forward.
About You
We're looking for an energetic, commercially aware professional who enjoys working at pace and leading from the front. You'll ideally have:
- Experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- A background in estimating, quotations, project management, technical sales or commercial engineering.
- The ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Previous experience managing or supervising a team.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong IT and systems knowledge, ideally using ERP/MRP or similar business systems.
- Outstanding organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple projects under pressure.
- A proactive approach with plenty of initiative and a desire to continuously improve processes.
