Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
(Mechanical Bias with Electrical Experience)
Headcorn, Kent
£40,000 – £50,000 DOEMonday – Friday | 08:00 – 16:30 | Full-Time, Permanent

The Opportunity:
We're recruiting on behalf of a successful and well-established manufacturing business based near Headcorn, Kent. They’re seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer with electrical experience to join their onsite growing engineering team.
This is a varied and hands-on role focusing on planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance of plant machinery. You’ll play a vital part in ensuring safe, efficient operations with minimal downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform mechanical PPM and reactive maintenance on plant and machinery
- Identify faults and complete timely repairs across mechanical and basic electrical systems
- Work with pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, hydraulics, and pneumatics
- Support site operations and continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and adhere to health & safety standards
- Participate in an on-call rota for breakdowns outside core hours
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong mechanical engineering background, ideally with electrical maintenance experience
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Good knowledge of motors, pumps, gearboxes, and control systems
- Ability to fault-find across both mechanical and basic electrical systems
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing or industrial setting
- Proactive and self-motivated with a team-focused attitude
- Full UK driving licence (preferred)
- Comfortable working in accordance with safety regulations and procedures
What’s On Offer:
- £40,000 – £50,000 per annum depending on experience
- Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:30 working hours 40 hours per week.
