We are working with a global logistics organisation to recruit an experienced Ocean Import Operator. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong background in import operations and international logistics to join a dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end ocean import process, ensuring shipments are delivered on time and in compliance with all regulations.
- Liaise with carriers, shipping lines, and freight forwarders to track and manage shipments.
- Prepare and process import documentation, including Bills of Lading, customs declarations, and commercial invoices.
- Coordinate with customs brokers and internal teams to ensure smooth clearance of goods.
- Monitor shipment schedules, provide updates to clients, and resolve any operational issues or delays.
- Maintain accurate records in the company’s systems and support reporting requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, carriers, and suppliers.
Requirements
- Proven experience in ocean import operations or freight forwarding.
- Strong knowledge of shipping documentation, customs processes, and international trade regulations.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with CargoWise, Magaya, or similar systems is a plus.
