A rapidly expanding manufacturing business supplying products into the construction sector is looking to appoint a Technical Estimator as part of its continued growth. This is a fast-paced, high-volume environment where priorities can shift quickly. The business is looking for someone who enjoys momentum, can juggle multiple enquiries at once, and brings a proactive, solutions-focused mindset to their work.
The role
- Working closely with both customers and internal teams, you’ll manage estimating activity from initial enquiry through to final quotation, ensuring a strong balance between technical accuracy and commercial awareness.
- Reviewing customer enquiries, drawings and specifications.
- Producing accurate and timely costings for manufactured products used on construction projects.
- Clarifying technical requirements with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Managing multiple live enquiries while working to deadlines.
- Maintaining pricing and enquiry information using internal systems.
- Supporting ongoing improvements to estimating processes as the business continues to scale.
What we’re looking for
- This role will suit a driven, organised and people-focused individual who performs well in a busy environment.
- Experience in estimating, technical sales, or a similar commercial/technical role – we would consider engineers with pricing experience looking to move into a fully office based role.
- A good technical understanding and confidence interpreting drawings or specifications.
- Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
- Good Excel skills.
- The ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A proactive, respectful and career-minded approach.
- A relevant degree (such as engineering, manufacturing or a related technical discipline) would be advantageous but is not essential.
