Are you an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with proficiency using Autodesk Inventor? Do you enjoy being ‘hands on’ and testing out designs within a Production environment? Are you looking for a stable, long term opportunity with a blend of CAD Design and physical manufacturing duties?
This role sits within the R&D function, working closely with a team of Toolmakers and Engineers.
Duties include:
- Designing and creating 2D drawings and 3D models using Autodesk Inventor.
- Aiding the manufacturing of parts by creating CAD models from existing drawings.
- Liaising with Engineering and Production teams to ensure that correct techniques are implemented through all design stages of production.
- Developing equipment and tooling for both existing and new products.
- Ensuring documentation for calculations, limitations and work instructions are kept accurately throughout the design process.
To be considered, you must:
- Be educated to a minimum of HNC level or equivalent within a relevant Engineering discipline.
- Be proficient in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD with a portfolio to demonstrate your ability.
- Have some experience using tools and machinery in a manufacturing environment to test and refine designs.
- Demonstrate a strong underpinning knowledge of Mechanical Engineering.
- Have knowledge of geometric tolerances and be able to give examples of where you have used this knowledge in your designs.
- Communicate well and enjoy working in a team environment.
