Technical Project & Estimating Manager, Outskirts of Maidstone. £40,000 - £55,000 + excellent career progression. This is a fast-paced manufacturing role that involves solving technical problems, managing multiple projects and leading a small team within a commercial function.
Responsibilities
- Managing and developing a small commercial and estimating team.
- Producing accurate quotations from customer enquiries, technical drawings and specifications.
- Reviewing project requirements and identifying practical manufacturing solutions.
- Coordinating multiple quotations and customer projects simultaneously.
- Working closely with production, engineering and commercial teams to ensure projects run smoothly.
- Building strong relationships with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Improving systems, processes and efficiencies across the department.
- Supporting continuous improvement and helping drive the business forward.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- A background in estimating, quotations, project management, technical sales or commercial engineering.
- The ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Previous experience managing or supervising a team.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong IT and systems knowledge, ideally using ERP/MRP or similar business systems.
- Outstanding organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple projects under pressure.
- A proactive approach with initiative and a desire to continuously improve processes.
