£50,000 – £60,000 Basic + Uncapped Commission £80,000 OTE Hybrid / Work From Home B2B | New Business | Consultative Sales | Full Sales Cycle
We’re working with an established and growing global B2B organisation looking to appoint an experienced Business Development Manager to its expanding commercial team. This is not an entry-level sales role. We’re looking for a proven new-business salesperson who is comfortable generating their own opportunities, managing a pipeline and, most importantly, closing deals.
The business has 1,000+ employees worldwide and an established, commercially proven proposition. Due to the nature of the company, we’re keeping its identity confidential at this stage. You’ll be selling a high-value, insight-led B2B service that helps organisations identify and access new commercial opportunities within their target markets.
The Role
As Business Development Manager, you’ll take ownership of the full new-business sales cycle, from initial prospecting and qualification through to presentation, negotiation and close. The typical sales cycle is relatively short, generally 2-12 weeks, so we’re particularly interested in candidates who have experience working in a fast-paced B2B environment where they are expected to consistently convert opportunities into revenue.
Day to day, you’ll be:
- Identifying and targeting new B2B clients
- Generating your own opportunities through cold calling, email and LinkedIn
- Building, managing and progressing a healthy sales pipeline
- Speaking with senior commercial and business decision-makers
- Understanding a prospect's market, challenges and growth objectives
- Delivering consultative sales presentations and pitches
- Demonstrating clear commercial value and ROI
- Managing objections and negotiating commercial terms
- Closing new business within a typical 2–12 week sales cycle
- Developing relationships that can generate recurring revenue
- Working towards individual revenue and new-business targets
What Are We Looking For?
We’re keeping the sector background relatively open. Your sales track record is more important than the industry you’ve worked in. You should be able to demonstrate:
- Proven experience in a Business Development Manager, New Business Manager or similar B2B sales role
- A strong track record of winning and closing new business
- Experience managing a short-to-medium sales cycle, ideally around 2–12 weeks
- Evidence of consistently hitting or exceeding revenue targets
- Confidence generating your own leads and opportunities
- Experience managing the entire sales process from prospecting through to close
- Strong negotiation and closing skills
- The ability to sell based on value, ROI and commercial impact rather than price alone
- Confidence dealing with senior-level decision-makers
Experience selling B2B services, solutions, subscriptions or other intangible propositions would be particularly relevant. Potential backgrounds could include:
- SaaS / Technology
- Business Intelligence
- Market Research
- Data & Insights
- Professional Services
- Business Services
- Consultancy
- Lead Generation / Intelligence
What’s On Offer?
- £50,000 – £60,000 basic salary
- £80,000 OTE
- Uncapped commission
- Hybrid / work-from-home flexibility
- Established and commercially proven proposition
- Opportunity to work with major B2B organisations
- Genuine autonomy over your own new-business pipeline
- Clear progression opportunities for high performers
- Growing sales team with significant further expansion planned
This opportunity would suit a commercially driven BDM who enjoys hunting for new business, running their own sales process and closing deals. Interested? Apply now for a confidential conversation.
