We are seeking a VDI Deployment Engineer to support a series of planned weekend deployment projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and hands-on engineer who enjoys working in fast-paced deployment environments.

The role will be carried out over several ad-hoc weekends, with work taking place on Friday evenings, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deploy and configure Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments.
  • Install and set up desktop hardware, monitors, peripherals, and workstations.
  • Perform device swaps and workstation replacements.
  • Maintain accurate asset management records and provide deployment progress updates.
  • Deliver basic troubleshooting and first-line user support during deployments.
  • Follow deployment plans, technical documentation, and standard operating procedures.
  • Escalate technical issues where appropriate while ensuring deployment schedules are maintained.
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and within agreed project timelines.
Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience in desktop, VDI, or hardware deployment projects.
  • Strong knowledge of PC, laptop, and peripheral installation.
  • Experience with workstation builds, device refreshes, and user migrations.
  • Familiarity with asset management processes and documentation.
  • Good troubleshooting skills and a customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to follow detailed technical documentation accurately.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a deployment team.
Desirable
  • Experience with enterprise Windows environments.
  • Previous experience supporting large-scale hardware refresh or migration projects.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft 365, or SCCM/Intune is advantageous.
