Key Responsibilities:

  • Server Maintenance & Hardware Management: Ensure the efficient operation and management of server hardware, peripherals, and supporting IT infrastructure.
  • System Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Conduct regular checks on systems to identify potential issues, resolve technical problems, and perform connectivity diagnostics (e.g., cables, ports, link lights).
  • Operational Support: Assist with server setup, racking, and cabling, while ensuring adherence to best practices in a data centre environment.
  • Basic Networking Tasks: Perform basic networking functions, including link light checks, connectivity troubleshooting, and cable management.
  • Software & Hardware Support: Support and configure Microsoft Windows, MS Office, and general PC hardware in a data centre setting.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Keep accurate records of all activities, changes, and troubleshooting steps for reporting purposes and future reference.

Skills & Experience:

  • SC Clearance: Must already hold Security Clearance (SC).
  • Basic IT Operations Knowledge: Familiarity with the fundamental principles of IT operations, including understanding of hardware, networking, and data centre environments.
  • Server & Hardware Knowledge: Basic knowledge of server hardware and peripherals, with a focus on maintenance, installation, and upgrades.
