About the position

Your daily duties will be wide and varied from assisting at the trade counter, manufacturing hoses, pressure testing, flushing components or effecting repairs at our workshop on Team Valley Gateshead. Pearson Hydraulics Gateshead have a long history of hose supply in the North East but we are expanding our service and products to grow the business into a one stop shop for all their hydraulic needs. Tasks & Responsibilities
- Assembly and testing of hose assemblies to customer specification
- Serving at the trade counter, making hoses to pattern
- Maintain and keep clean all work areas, ensuring all waste is stored correctly.
- Be aware of use and maintenance of safety equipment and fully utilise all safety items within the legal and H&S requirements.
- Maintain dress and appearance standards wearing corporate uniform at all times of employment and maintain it in a clean and suitable condition.
- Attend all weekly/monthly staff meetings
- Arranging carriage and delivering goods to the customer
- Quality control of goods in and/or goods out
- Checking that the correct quantity and type of goods have been received;
- Recording any damaged, missing or faulty goods;
- Signing the delivery form, once satisfied that the goods are complete;
- Moving the goods to the correct area in the warehouse, either manually or using mechanical handling equipment
- Preparing despatch notes and labels
Qualifications
- Strong assembly skills with attention to detail
- Mechanical knowledge and understanding of assembly processes
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools
- Previous warehouse experience is preferred
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and equipment
- Experience Production & Assembly Occupations: 1 year (preferred)
- Customer service: 1 year (preferred)
- Licence/Certification Driving Licence (preferred)
