Pearson Carter are currently working with an exciting UK-based startup that is transforming how brands sell, market, and grow online. Their platform provides businesses with a dedicated marketplace ecosystem, enabling them to connect directly with customers while delivering powerful analytics and insights that help drive growth. Rather than relying solely on third-party marketplaces such as Facebook, eBay, or Vinted, brands can leverage a purpose-built platform that integrates with leading e-commerce solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and deploy AI-powered agents and agentic software solutions.
  • Own features end-to-end, from concept and development through to production deployment.
  • Develop scalable applications using TypeScript, Node.js, React, JavaScript, and Express.
  • Drive DevOps and infrastructure initiatives, including Kubernetes deployments and development environments.
  • Partner with founders and stakeholders to influence technical decisions and product direction.
  • Leverage AI tools, particularly Claude, to accelerate development and establish engineering best practices.

Experience:

  • Strong software engineering background with expertise in TypeScript, Node.js, React, JavaScript, and Express.
  • Proven experience building AI agents, autonomous workflows, or agentic software applications.
  • Advanced user of Claude and other AI-assisted development tools.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, feature ownership, and product-led development.
  • Experience with Linux, developer tooling, DevOps practices, containerisation, and Kubernetes.
  • Comfortable working in a startup environment with a high level of ownership and autonomy.

Desirable:

  • Experience integrating AI capabilities into SaaS products.
  • Background working with e-commerce, marketplace, or platform-based businesses.
  • Familiarity with analytics platforms and data-driven product development.
  • Experience scaling products and engineering teams within startup environments.
  • Knowledge of cloud-native architectures and modern infrastructure practices.

Salary: £70,000 – £100,000 depending on experience.

Location: London-based company operating a flexible working model. The team primarily works from the office, however flexibility is available for the right candidate. Occasional travel for meetings may be required.
