Pearson Carter are currently working with a major public sector programme, who are looking to recruit a Data Engineer to join their growing Data & Integration team.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on a large-scale enterprise data platform, helping to build modern data pipelines and integration solutions that support business intelligence, reporting, and future AI capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and support enterprise data pipelines and integration solutions.
  • Build and maintain ETL/ELT processes across multiple data sources.
  • Support cloud-based data platforms and contribute to the continuous improvement of enterprise data capabilities.
  • Assist with data modelling, schema design and the creation of datasets for reporting and analytics.
  • Monitor pipeline performance, troubleshoot issues and improve data quality and reliability.
  • Collaborate with Data Analysts, Software Engineers and business stakeholders to understand data requirements.
  • Support data governance, security and best practice across enterprise data platforms.

Experience Required

  • Current SC Clearance or previously held SC Clearance.
  • Up to 2 years’ experience in Data Engineering, Software Engineering, Analytics or a similar technical role.
  • Strong SQL and Python skills.
  • Understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data integration.
  • Knowledge of relational databases and data engineering principles.
  • Experience working with Git or other version control systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure, AWS or Google Cloud.
  • Exposure to Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Databricks or similar data engineering technologies.
  • Knowledge of data governance, data quality and reporting concepts.
  • Experience working in Agile environments.
