IT Assurance Lead (contract)
Pearson Carter are working with a leading organisation delivering critical defence and technology programmes.
They are looking for an experienced IT Assurance Lead to play a key role across a high‑profile programme, ensuring applications, infrastructure, and cloud environments are secure by design and compliant throughout their lifecycle.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative environment where you'll work closely with customers, programme stakeholders, development teams, and security specialists to embed security from the outset and drive best practice across the programme.
Responsibilities
- Lead IT Assurance activities across applications, infrastructure, and cloud environments, ensuring Security by Design principles and compliance requirements are embedded throughout the project lifecycle.
- Build strong relationships with customers, stakeholders, and technical teams to deliver secure, compliant solutions aligned with programme objectives.
- Define secure development standards, oversee assurance activities, and ensure effective security controls protect critical systems and data.
- Identify, assess, and manage IT risks while driving continuous improvements to security processes, compliance, and overall programme assurance.
Experience
- Strong background in IT Assurance, Cyber Security, or Information Security, ideally within defence or another highly regulated environment.
- Excellent knowledge of Security by Design principles and recognised frameworks including ISO 44001, NIST 800-53/171/172, NIS2, DEFSTAN, and JSPs.
- Experience securing cloud, infrastructure, and application environments, with proven risk management and compliance expertise.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, organisational, and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and travel when required.
