An organisation is seeking an experienced Dynamics 365 Business Central Administrator / Platform Owner to take full ownership of its Business Central platform. This hybrid role combines hands-on technical and functional expertise with strategic product ownership, focusing on governance, optimisation, and long-term platform maturity.
The successful candidate will ensure the Business Central environment is secure, compliant, scalable, and fully aligned with business objectives, while driving automation, reporting excellence, and operational efficiency across finance and warehouse functions.
Responsibilities- Own the Dynamics 365 Business Central platform, managing all environments (Development, Test, Production) and ensuring system stability, performance, and integrity.
- Define, implement, and enforce system governance, IT General Controls (ITGC), and change management processes.
- Configure and customise Business Central functionality, including forms, workflows, reports, and extensions; perform minor AL development where required.
- Design, implement, and maintain user security, roles, and permission structures in line with finance and compliance requirements.
- Manage and coordinate third-party consultants and delivery partners, ensuring quality, scope, and technical standards are met.
- Act as Product Owner for the Business Central platform, owning the roadmap, backlog, and prioritisation of enhancements.
- Translate business requirements into user stories and functional specifications.
- Stay up to date with Business Central releases and new features, recommending improvements based on business value.
- Provide ongoing support, optimisation, documentation, and maintenance of the Business Central platform.
- 3–5 years’ experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and/or Dynamics NAV (2016–2018).
- Strong functional and technical expertise across Business Central configuration, finance modules, and platform architecture.
- Proven experience in system administration, security management, data integrity, and environment ownership.
- Hands-on experience with C/AL and AL, with exposure to DevOps / ALM practices for BC deployments.
- Strong understanding of financial processes, including multi-company, multi-currency, intercompany, and reporting.
- Experience delivering Power BI dashboards and analytical reporting for senior stakeholders.
- Salary: £75,000
- Location: Guildford - 5x a week in office.
