Cloud & Managed IT Engineer (Tier 3) – Up to £63,500 Package | Hybrid – Meppershall (3 Days Onsite)
We’re working with a fast-growing, UK-based Managed Services provider that’s scaling their cloud and support operations. Due to continued investment and demand, they’re hiring an experienced Tier 3 Cloud & IT Engineer to act as a technical lead across escalations, infrastructure optimisation, and automation.
This is a hybrid role, based out of their modern Meppershall office 3 days per week, with the rest from home. You’ll work with a high-performing technical team supporting enterprise clients and complex environments.
The Role
- Location: Meppershall – Hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days WFH)
- Package: Up to £63,500 total (base + benefits)
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Additional: Participation in weekend on-call rota (critical incident cover)
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and resolve complex 3rd-line escalations from Tier 2 engineers
- Lead root cause analysis, permanent fixes, and automation of repeat issues
- Design and deploy automation workflows using PowerShell and Power Platform
- Support infrastructure projects – migrations, upgrades, virtualisation
- Maintain accurate documentation and support knowledge base resources
- Champion best practices across Incident, Problem, and Change Management
- Act as technical lead on customer and internal cloud transformation projects
- Mentor and support junior engineers and assist with technical upskilling
- Work across hybrid environments including private CoLo infrastructure
The Candidate
You’ll be a highly competent 3rd Line Engineer or Tier 3 Support Specialist with a strong background in Microsoft cloud technologies and infrastructure support.
- 3+ years in a senior support role within enterprise or MSP environments
- Expertise across Microsoft 365, Azure, Exchange Online, Windows Server, and Intune
- Strong PowerShell scripting and automation skills
- Solid troubleshooting skills across desktop, server, cloud, and network layers
- Familiar with ITIL-aligned practices – especially in incident and change processes
- Confident in mentoring others and leading technical discussions
- Comfortable working on a hybrid schedule (3 days onsite)
- Eligible to work in the UK
- Knowledge of tools such as Tanium, Okta, SailPoint, Proofpoint
- Experience with CoLo infrastructure, Hyper-V, VMware, SQL Server
- Familiarity with DNS/Cloudflare, Acronis, Cortex XDR, or Scale Computing
- Experience using ServiceNow or similar ticketing platforms
