Examiner - GCE A Level - CHEMISTRY (2016 Specification) — Pearson A GCE Chemistry (2016 Specification) Examiner will mark candidates’ responses in accordance with the pre-defined mark scheme, while adhering to conditions of recognition and examination procedures. Most subjects will be marked onscreen using ePEN from home; some subjects are still marked using traditional paper scripts sent by post. A high level of subject knowledge is required to apply the mark scheme. Each examiner will receive an agreed allocation of scripts.

Responsibilities

  • Mark accurately and consistently to maintain overall standards
  • Submit samples to your Team Leader at designated times
  • Ensure milestones for marking are adhered to
  • Complete all required administration as specified

Experience / Qualifications

  • One academic year's teaching experience within the last 8 years in the relevant qualification and subject
  • Degree or equivalent
  • Qualified teacher

Competencies

  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • High level of subject knowledge to apply the mark scheme

Additional Information

  • The marking period is between May – July
  • Training to mark as an examiner occurs between May and June
