The Client
Pearse are excited to have partnered exclusively with a leading global trading firm to support the growth of their London Finance team. As part of their continued investment in their London office, they are looking for a Senior Accountant to support the financial operations of the business, reporting directly to the UK Finance Lead. This is a role created entirely by growth and they want someone who is hungry and ambitious to join a very fast-paced, evolving environment.
The Role
As Senior Accountant, you will report directly to the Financial Controller and work closely with various teams including trading, wider finance and tax to ensure the smooth running of financial processes across the organisation. This is both a hands-on accounting position and a strategic role with real scope to drive process improvements and efficiency gains.
You will be surrounded by some of the brightest and best in trading and finance, with a flat structure and open, collaborative culture that provides genuine responsibility from day one. Responsibilities
- Responsible for owning the day-to-day accounting, maintaining full compliance with local GAAP / IFRS standards
- Drive month-end close processes while assisting in building out UK reconciliation procedures from the ground up
- Produce financial statements and supporting workpapers for the annual audit
- Support with FP&A in key areas such as the forecast and budgeting processes
- Drive process improvements and implement automation tooling to streamline workflows
- Take ownership of yearly corporate tax submissions, coordinating with and managing external advisors throughout
- Play an active role in quarterly and annual FCA regulatory submissions for relevant entities
- Oversee quarterly VAT submissions across the UK group
Requirements
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Proficiency in Excel and ERP / accounting software
- Strong knowledge of financial processes and reporting across multiple entities and currencies
- Genuine interest in financial products and trading, prior experience is an advantage but not required
- Excellent communications skills
- Ability to work well with senior stakeholders cross-functionally
- Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment
