Pearse Professionals are delighted to be exclusively partnering with an ambitious, high-growth, founder-led professional services business on the appointment of a newly created Finance Director position.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business at an exciting stage of its growth journey, where the successful individual will work closely with the Managing Director and Senior Leadership Team to shape strategy, build a scalable finance function, and drive commercial performance across the organisation.

This role would suit an experienced Head of Finance or Financial Controller ready to step into their first Finance Director position, or an established Finance Director looking to make a meaningful impact within a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a strategic business partner to the Managing Director and Senior Leadership Team.
  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and board reporting.
  • Build, mentor and develop the existing finance function.
  • Drive commercial insight, business performance and operational efficiency through robust financial analysis.
  • Oversee financial controls, governance, compliance and prepare the business for its first audit.
  • Lead systems, process improvement and automation initiatives, including the use of AI and technology.
  • Work cross-functionally with commercial and operational teams to improve profitability and support sustainable growth.

Experience Required

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA (or equivalent) qualified.
  • Demonstrable experience in a senior finance leadership role.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence strategic decision-making.
  • Experience leading budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and business partnering.
  • Proven track record of strengthening financial controls and preparing businesses for audit.
  • Passion for improving systems, processes and leveraging technology to enhance finance.
  • Professional services or other project-based industry experience would be advantageous.
