Interim Commercial Finance Lead

Pearse Professionals are supporting a rapidly scaling infrastructure business undergoing a period of operational and financial transition who are seeking an experienced Interim Commercial Finance Lead. This role will take ownership of a full re‑forecasting exercise, working closely with the senior leadership team to provide clarity on performance, cash requirements, and cost‑to‑complete across a fibre build programme.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead an end‑to‑end re‑forecasting process, delivering accurate, insight‑driven financial models and scenario analysis.
• Provide commercial finance support across build, installation and network rollout activities, with a clear understanding of build cost‑to‑complete, capex profiling, and project‑level economics.
• Partner with operational, build and project delivery teams to validate assumptions, challenge variances, and improve forecasting accuracy.
• Own FP&A outputs: board packs, KPI tracking, monthly forecasts, and financial insights to support decision making.
• Work with finance, programme management and external stakeholders where required.
• Support short‑term cashflow planning, risk identification and commercial scenario planning.

Candidate Profile

• Senior commercial finance / FP&A professional with a strong track record in infrastructure, telecoms, fibre, environments.
• Must have delivered a similar project within the fibre sector previously.
• Strong understanding of capex‑heavy build programmes, cost‑to‑complete modelling, unit economics and project reporting.
• Comfortable engaging with operational teams and challenging assumptions.
• Prior experience with BDUK or publicly‑funded rollout programmes is highly desirable.
