We’re excited to have been retained by one of the UK’s most innovative, AI-led, B2B fintech businesses as they appoint a CFO to help lead the next phase of their growth journey. Having raised a significant Series B this year, attracting top venture capital investors, the business has developed a market leading, AI-driven platform that is transforming their industry. With revenue doubling year on year, they are forecasting this to continue as they begin to scale internationally into the US.

With a rapidly expanding customer base, the company is now entering an exciting period of scale, with product innovation and international growth, and are looking for a CFO to help the business to continue scaling from Series B onwards.

Role & Responsibilities

  • The CFO will lead on all financial aspects of the business, reporting directly to their Founder/CEO and leading the overall finance function.
  • Responsible for shaping and executing the company’s financial strategy to support its next phase of growth.
  • Strategic partner to the CEO and leadership team, providing commercial insight and long-term strategic planning including evaluating strategic growth opportunities, international expansion and future exit plans.
  • Leading future fundraising activity (leading on upcoming Series C fundraise) and manage relationships with existing and prospective investors.
  • Manage and build a world class finance team, including hiring of a VP Finance.
  • Build and develop best in class financial planning and forecasting.
  • Own board reporting, financial modelling and KPI reporting across key metrics.
  • Act as the primary finance contact for investors, board members and external stakeholders.
  • Driving process improvement, automation and operational efficiency across the finance function.
  • Identifying performance gaps and areas for potential improvement.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience operating as a CFO within a VC-backed environment.
  • Experience leading venture capital fundraising and managing investor relations, ideally post Series B.
  • Highly commercial with the ability to influence strategic decision making.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
  • Previous experience operating at Board level.
  • Experience in the insurance or SaaS space is a bonus.
