What are we looking for?
We are looking for a volunteer who combines technical skill with empathy, integrity, and a strong ethical approach. The ideal person will bring experience in IT systems and/or digital marketing, and will be motivated by supporting a small team that works with women affected by trauma, sex work, and substance use.
Personal qualities:
- Trauma-informed and safeguarding-aware, with sensitivity to the experiences of women we support
- Works ethically and respectfully, protecting privacy and confidentiality at all times
- Understands the importance of consent and representation when sharing stories or images
- Not motivated by collecting women’s personal stories, but instead solution-focused in finding creative, safe ways to share our impact and increase reach
- Reliable, organised, and able to work independently within agreed boundaries
- Positive, flexible, and collaborative, with good communication skills and attention to detail
- Motivated by purpose and social impact, not publicity or profile
Experience And Knowledge:
We welcome volunteers from a range of professional or voluntary backgrounds. The most useful experience would include one or more of the following:
- IT support or systems administration (e.g. Google Workspace, shared drives, online forms, or data organisation)
- Digital marketing or communications, including social media management, content creation, or design
- Website maintenance or updates using simple content management systems
- Data protection, confidentiality, and safe information handling
- General admin or project support, ideally in a small team or charity setting
You don’t need to be an expert in everything — we’re looking for someone who is thoughtful, practical, and keen to make a positive contribution. We’ll provide an induction, guidance around our trauma-informed approach, and ongoing support to ensure you feel confident and connected in the role.
