As we continue to expand our operations, we are looking for a talented Sheet Metal Fabricator to join our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Sheet Metal Cutting: Operate cutting equipment such as shears, laser, plasma, or waterjet to cut sheet metal to the required dimensions, following blueprints or engineering drawings.
- Metal Bending and Forming: Set up and operate press brakes and other machinery to bend, shape, and form sheet metal into specific shapes and angles.
- Welding and Joining: Perform welding and joining processes, including MIG, TIG, or spot welding, to assemble sheet metal components accurately.
- Finishing and Grinding: Use grinding and finishing tools to smooth, deburr, and polish metal surfaces, ensuring a high-quality finish.
- Quality Control: Inspect completed parts for accuracy, quality, and adherence to specifications. Make adjustments and corrections as necessary to meet quality standards.
- Material Handling: Safely handle and transport sheet metal materials, tools, and finished components within the workshop.
- Tool Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on fabrication tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition. Report any equipment issues to supervisors.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety procedures and guidelines, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and contribute to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues in the production team, including designers and engineers, to ensure that project goals and timelines are met.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including production logs, quality checks, and material usage.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Sheet Metal Fabricator or similar role.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Knowledge of metalworking techniques, including cutting, bending, welding, and finishing.
- Familiarity with fabrication tools and equipment, such as press brakes, shears, and welding machines.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
