We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Design Technician with a strong background in engineering design to join our dynamic team. You will play a pivotal role in transforming client briefs and concept designs into technically robust and manufacturable signage solutions. This is a hands-on role that bridges design intent with engineering execution, ensuring structural integrity, compliance, and ease of installation.

Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed technical drawings and production-ready designs for a variety of signage types (illuminated, architectural, digital, totem, etc.).
- Interpret design briefs, sketches, and architectural plans to develop engineering-focused solutions.
- Collaborate with project managers, sales, production, and installation teams to ensure design feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and compliance.
- Use CAD software to generate 2D and 3D drawings.
- Apply structural design principles to ensure signage meets wind load, material strength, and mounting requirements.
- Integrate lighting, wiring, and other technical components into signage design where applicable.
- Produce comprehensive documentation including bill of materials (BOM), fabrication drawings, assembly instructions, and risk assessments.
- Review and revise designs based on feedback from clients, engineers, and fabrication teams.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant health & safety, accessibility, and building regulations.
Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience in an engineering design or technical drafting role, preferably within the sign, construction, or manufacturing industry.
- Proficient in CAD software.
- Strong understanding of materials, fabrication methods, and structural design.
- Knowledge of illumination techniques and integration.
- Familiarity with signage standards and installation practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy and quality.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
