Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems across a variety of settings, including commercial, industrial, and construction sites. Your expertise will ensure that all electrical work complies with safety standards and local codes while supporting the seamless operation of electrical infrastructure. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, from renovation to new construction, utilizing your technical knowledge and hands-on skills to deliver high-quality results.

Duties

• Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems using hand tools and power tools in accordance with blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and construction blueprints to accurately execute installation and repair tasks.
• Work with low voltage and high voltage systems, ensuring all work adheres to NEC (National Electrical Code) standards for safety and compliance.
• Operate testing equipment such as ohmmeters to diagnose electrical issues effectively.
• Program and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in industrial automation processes.
• Conduct routine maintenance on electrical equipment to prevent failures and extend operational life.
• Collaborate with construction teams, including frame carpentry and general contractors, during renovation or new build projects.
• Ensure all work complies with safety protocols related to high voltage systems and low voltage wiring.
• Maintain detailed records of inspections, repairs, and installations for compliance and future reference.
• Assist in training junior team members or apprentices on proper electrical techniques and safety procedures.
• Support maintenance person tasks as needed to ensure the overall functionality of facilities.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a domestic and commercial electrician with a strong background in electrical installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience working on construction sites with knowledge of renovation projects.
• Proficiency in reading technical drawings related to electrical systems.
• Familiarity with NICEIC standards for residential, commercial, and industrial wiring practices.
• Ability to operate hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers as well as power tools like drills and saws safely and efficiently.
• Experience working with low voltage systems (such as security alarms or data cabling) as well as high voltage power distribution systems.
• Skilled in using testing instruments such as ohmmeters for diagnosing electrical issues.
• Strong understanding of construction processes including framing carpentry when necessary for integrated projects.
• Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to maintenance tasks.
• Valid ECS license or certification where applicable; additional certifications in safety or specialized systems are a plus. Pay: £17.50-£20.00 per hour
