We are recruiting for an experienced Finance Manager to join our client’s friendly team! This role is responsible for the day-to-day running of finances, and a planned aspect for the finance function is the modernisation of finance workflows through improved system integration and the adoption of automation tools.
Duties will include:
- Full responsibility for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Managing and optimising the integration between the in-house system and the accounting software
- Completing bank reconciliations and managing company expenses
- Overseeing the calculation and validation of timesheet hours monthly
- Maintaining the General Ledger up to Trial Balance including month-end journals, accruals, and depreciation
- Completing nominal ledger reconciliations and managing rebate calculations
- Identifying and implementing AI-driven technology to improve efficiency
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns
- Preparing and maintaining a rolling 13-week cashflow forecast
- Acting as sole point of contact for internal and external financial queries
Required skills and experience:
- AAT Level 3 or 4 (or equivalent) is essential for this position
- Proven experience in a previous Finance Manager role, ideally within an SME
- Strong bookkeeping knowledge and proficiency in Xero or equivalent
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Due to the location of our client’s office, access to your own vehicle is required. This role is office-based for the first 6 months until training is completed; following this, a degree of hybrid flexibility (1-2 days per week from home) may be considered.
