Privately owned, highly successful family run manufacturing company based in Brislington are seeking a highly efficient Accounts Assistant to support the team in all aspects of the Finance function. As part of a small team in a busy and friendly office, the successful applicant must be hungry to develop their career in accounting and will possess some relevant experience.

Applicants must have previous experience of working with Excel, will have gained 1-2 years' experience within accounts work, and ideally be AAT qualified to level 2. This is a superb opportunity if you are looking to further develop your career in finance and accounting. You'll be fully trained and will support on all administrative tasks, assisting with accounting functions, and ensuring accurate financial records. This role requires attention to detail, accounting knowledge, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Duties and responsibilities within a small accounts team:

  • Assist in processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
  • Prepare and reconcile invoices, bills, and bank statements
  • Assist in maintaining accurate financial records by entering data into accounting software
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes
  • Assist in resolving accounting discrepancies and irregularities
  • Respond to enquiries from clients, vendors, and employees regarding accounting matters
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, and organising financial documents

Experience and skills required:

  • The role would suit applicants with some experience of working within a finance function and/or AAT level 2 or similar
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite - specifically Excel and Word
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Team working and accountability for own tasks and workload
  • Superb communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to prioritise and to meet deadlines
