Pear Tree Community Junior School is seeking to appoint a dedicated and skilled Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This role will involve working flexibly to meet pupil needs, including 1:1 support, small group intervention, and in-class support, under the guidance of the SENDCo and class teacher.
We are looking for someone who will:
- Care passionately about supporting children with SEND and helping them to achieve their full potential
- Be committed to inclusive practice and removing barriers to learning
- Support pupils effectively through 1:1, small group and in-class provision
- Work collaboratively with the SENDCo and class teachers to implement Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs), learning support plans and strategies
- Build positive relationships with pupils, promoting confidence, independence and wellbeing
- Value a team approach and contribute positively to the wider school community
- Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills when working with staff, parents and carers
