Pear Talent is representing a FTSE 100 insurance and asset management group with an excellent opportunity for a Senior FP&A Manager in their high-profile Group Performance team. This is a business partnering role with real weight — working directly with Group leadership/Exec, Divisional leadership and Investor Relations to shape financial insight, challenge performance, and drive better decisions at the very top of a complex, multi-divisional organisation.
The Company: A household name in UK financial services, this group manages hundreds of billions in assets and touches the financial lives of millions of people — through insurance and investment. The Group Finance function sits at the heart of it all, and the Group Performance team is where the most commercially critical analysis gets done.
The Team: Reporting to the Director and part of a 5 person high-performing team with high-visibility. The Group Performance team works in close partnership with senior executive leadership to ensure that divisional forecasts, strategic plans, and financial performance are aligned with Group-level targets and external results messaging. If you want exposure, influence, and intellectual challenge — this team delivers all three.
The Role: As Senior FP&A Manager, you'll own the IFRS profit forecast cycle for assigned business divisions — not just producing numbers, but interrogating them. You'll build a genuine understanding of business drivers, challenge divisional submissions, identify risks and opportunities, and translate complex financial performance into clear, compelling narratives for Board and Executive audiences. You'll also lead the financial evaluation of non-BAU investment proposals — assessing business cases for robustness, strategic alignment, and delivery credibility — and feeding recommendations directly to the Group CFO.
- Own monthly IFRS forecast submissions for assigned divisions — managing risks, opportunities, and performance insights end-to-end
- Partner with divisional finance teams to understand business drivers and proactively improve Group performance outcomes
- Support the annual financial planning cycle — challenging divisional plan submissions against strategic priorities and prior-year performance
- Produce high-quality MI and commentary for Group Board and Executive audiences — telling the performance story with clarity and confidence
- Lead financial evaluation of investment proposals — challenging assumptions, assessing delivery risk, and tracking benefits realisation
- Drive process improvement across reporting, forecasting, and analytical capability
- Support external disclosure verification and Group reporting obligations
What We're Looking For:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with several years post-qualified experience
- Proven FP&A experience in a complex FTSE/blue-chip company ideally in Group FP&A
- Strong business partnering skills — able to challenge constructively and influence at senior levels
- A natural storyteller with numbers — turning data into insight, insight into action
- High attention to detail with a delivery-focused, flexible approach
- IFRS 17 knowledge is an advantage
- People management experience is desirable but not essential
Why This Role? Because Group FP&A roles with this level of executive exposure, commercial breadth, and genuine influence don't come up often — especially at a business of this scale and reputation. If you're ready to step up and own the performance narrative for a major financial services group, get in touch!
